Has anybody ever???

separated the inner roof from the cab? I have a cab that has a damaged roof on the inside. I was going to cut out the bad part and weld in a patch. It looks like it might be easier to drill out the spot welds and take the entire inner cab roof out and replace it. Anybody done this?????

I thought about doing the same thing. But the roof is spot welded to a flange from the seam that you can see on the top back of the cab. I cut the top open on one to check . Im going to patch mine when i get that far.

there is a seam that you wont be able to get to the spot welds in the rear unless you drill all the spot welds out around the drip welt, door jams, and separate the roof and back of the cab as one piece. its possible but way too much work, its best to cut out the bad and replace while its in the truck.

Re: Has anybody ever???

I was afraid that the seam would be a problem.
