Does it work when you turn the headlight switch?

Re: Dome light not working?

Check the connection behind the drivers side seat. The wire runs from the under the driver side dash behind the drivers seat, up the cab to the light. Also where it goes under the skin of the roof there are some rough metal spots that may chafe the wire. Out of 6 trucks I have found 2 of them with corroded connectors.

Re: Dome light not working?

My '73 dome light only works from the door switches. It would not work when I got it from my Dad. Ended up replacing both switches. The switches have to be grounded to the body (door jamb). Mine were not when I installed the new ones. I had to do a little scratching around the hole to get a good contact. I also have a light under the dash in the center. It is turned on by the headlight switch.
