Brake shoe holddown spring location

Does the brake shoe holddown spring with the small coil on one end go on the primary or secondary shoe?

Re: Brake shoe holddown spring location

The spring with the small coil on the end holds the primary shoe down. There should be a small washer for the spring to contact against the shoe.
