New cab mounts

Has anyone used the Energy Suspension cab mounts on a 67? I'm having a hell on a time alighning sheet metal and I think it's my mounts screwing me up.

Is there an advantage to using some from ECC or LMC?

Re: New cab mounts

forsale, check your radiator core support mounts. Most cab mount kits come with the later 69-72 core support mounts. They are different IIRC taller than the 67-68.They will cause alignment nightmares.

Re: New cab mounts

PanelDeland said it right the Energy Susp. kit comes with 69-72 radiator core support mounts which are 1 1/8" to thick to use on 67&68 trucks, this will cause to tight a gap at top of fender, to wide a gap at bottom rear of fender and cause body line from door to fender to be off. In order to solve this you'll need to pick up 67-68 core support mounts. Ours can be found here

I would toss the Energy Suspention Cab Mounts in the trash. There is no give in them what so ever. Urithane body mounts are hard on vehicles with flexible frames, because they do not give when your frame flexes with the road conditions. They also do not have any advantages over their rubber counterparts. You just as well weld your cab to the frame. I have had many customers here replacing their poly body munts with rubber because of dammage they caused. Remember GM used rubber there for a reason, and the reasone is they absorb shock, give when needed to, and absorb vibrations. Urithane does none of this. WES

Re: New cab mounts

Good info. Are the mounts on the 67-68 somwhere around a 1/4" thick? I think I have them I just thought they were missing the mount. So I did put in the 69 mount and they are throwing everything off. Thanks for the help guys.
