press in ball joints

hey guys, im pondering an idea of making my own control arms. i would like to know if anyone has press in ball joints both upper and lowers that work with a 67-72 2.5" drop spindle. im trying to get away with the look of bolts on top of the control arms. if there is such a thing out there please let me know

thanks guy, kyle

Re: press in ball joints

Not sure, but I don't think there is such thing as a "press in" ball joint for the top. Pretty sure they are all "bolt in."

Re: press in ball joints

I don’t see why it would be a problem as long as the shafts that attach to the spindle are the same size. I considered doing that with mine but changed my mind (I never did measure them to see if it would have worked).

I would say as long as you press the top ones in from the bottom of the arm.....sure....

But don't press it in from the top....lol....

Exactly. This is why upper BJ's are bolt-in or screw-in. If they were pressed from the top, the forces generated as the suspension cycles would possibly 'work' them off their seat & out of the a-arm hole.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Chrysler BJ's screw in & would be simple enough to incorporate into the design if creating some arms from scratch . . ..... & they would eliminate the bolts he doesn't want.

Re: press in ball joints

Better yet, buy the NASCAR style screw-in ball joints ... no bolts OR the need for a press.
