Question on disks and lug pattern

I have the five lug conversion disk and dropped spindle set up for my panel. One wheel Im considering doesnt come in the five x five pattern, but does come in the smaller car pattern. Can I just purchase the five lug disks from a car? If so which ones? Would my calipers still work with the car disks? I'm guessing for the rear I could just have my axles re drilled and use the car drums and brake set up...thanks for any help.

Unfortunately no. THey will not fit.I did this same thing awhile back and had a heck of a time making it happen. I luckily found a board member that had 5 on 5 rotors drilled for the 5 on 4 3/4 pattern, but never used them. I had a 6 lug rear. I bought new axles from moser and had them drilled for both 5 on 5 and 5 on 4 3/4 (just in case I changed my mind). Now comes the trick. Certain 70's vans came with 5 on 4 3/4 rear drums, but they will fit our rear end. I also found that the front drums off a tri-five Chevy car is the same drum part number. So if you know someone with a tri-five that did a front disk brake conversion you can get their old drums from them and they will fit. Now I got everything all together and started assembling it, then i changed my mind about the wheels I was using, so I moved all the wheel studs to the 5 on 5 hole pattern, and threw on the 5 on 5 rear drums. I guess the good thing is if I ever find a set of 5 on 4 3/4 wheels i can't live without I can switch it all back. Nothing like dual bolt pattern on a Truck. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks alot. Thats good info. Since I still don't have my panel back it leaves me too much time to think about things and change my mind over and over and over. I really like the old style chrome reverse rims. But I can only find the newer chrome smoothie style rim. Ive contacted a bunch of wheel people, but non have the 5x5 lug pattern in the chrome reverse.
