tips for stopping a fuel leak?

I changed the fuel filter and wouldnt you know it, I now have a tiny leak coming from the line at the carb.. And unless I do something, I really dont think I'm going to get ti to seal without getting anew line ad/or fitting.

ANy ideas? are lines easy to find? suppose I could use a flange tool and clean it up? ANy kind of sealer I could try?

My preference would be to find a line, fitting, and filter housing all new.. are these parts readily availabe?

Thanks

Is it a hardline? If it is try some teflon tape.

Re: tips for stopping a fuel leak?

if its a filter that is external to the 4barrel Qjet carb it's an aftermarket part and local parts stores have fuel filters and steel gas lines

if it is the stock filter housing on the carb, the kind with a flaired line, then you can't add anything to the threads to seal it.
Try opening it back up, and check the sealing surface for crap. Clean it, and reassemble.

yeah, did all that, which is why i was thinking I need a new line..

will lmc have a line? I know I could bend a new one and flange it, but if I could get an oem one cheap, I'd rather go that route.

Re: tips for stopping a fuel leak?

go to napa and ask for 3/8 brake line. Measure how much you need to go from the carb inlest to where ever you need to go (pump, or additional filter)
Plan on getting 2 if you are not good at bending lines.
