Trading, what do ya think
I have a 1995 Camaro that I have been looking to sell or trade. A guy offered me a 1970 blazer for it but it still needs quite a bit of work. It has no eng. or trans. in it but he's throwing in a trans. with my choice of a 327 or a 454 (both running). I wasn't really looking for another major project but this blazer looks pretty cool. It has had a body drop done to it. I still really dont know much about it till I go look at it this weekend. I just figured I'd post and see what you guys think. I'm still trying to get my 66 completed and I'm unshure about digging into another project right now.
anyway, here are some pics....

Re: Trading, what do ya think
I think it looks pretty cool, but that being said I've taken on 3 projects in the last few years, and I can't seem to get any of them done. My 63 get most of the attention just because it's my driver, but the other two are just waiting in the wings. I don't have the time or money to do them all at once. If I had it to do over I would have finished the first one before starting anymore. Maybe it would done by now. Just my thoughts. Good luck!

Re: Trading, what do ya think
If your camaro is not your daily driver , I say go for it, those blazers are not a common as the camaro, and when you get your 66 done you will be ready to go on another project.
+ I like that half top that was built for it! Last edited by jonzcustomshop; 10-09-2008 at 03:41 PM. |

Re: Trading, what do ya think
Me too. Just because that particular body style isn't my thing, but its also a matter of one is street ready and the other isn't.
If your truck is really dependable and your not worried about having a daily driver that other one might be a cool "next" project. |

Re: Trading, what do ya think
I like the Blazer as well. The Camaro is nice too, however as mentioned, there are alot less Blazers out there than the 'maros.
Besides, the Camaro runs and is not a sitting project, so it must go !!!!

Re: Trading, what do ya think
I like that! 2wd Blazer w/ 67 clip and a short top. (like Bronco/Scout)
Thats what they all should have looked like. Saw a awesome black one in Richland hills, TX, yesterday. Not fond of the plate recess. (kinda looks out of place) Thats way cooler than a late mod Camaro. Although that K10 would be sweeter with a LS/T56 under the hood.

And I agree with Rogue about the front clip. I think it looks way better than the boxy look of the 70. The recessed plate doesn't bother me to much but they some how repositioned the cowl to make it look somwhat chopped and that kinda bothers me. I appreciate everyones comments. I'm going to look at the blazer tomorrow to get a better idea of what was all done so far and what is left to be done. And hopfully I can get both of the engines the guy has.

Re: Trading, what do ya think
I'm not exactly sure what they had planned for this truck. I think they were panning on evenually bagging it. I'm pretty sure that the suspension is for the most part stock.

Re: Trading, what do ya think
No offence to the camero guys, but we have alway refered to that body style of camero as a "white trash ferrari". I say jump on the blazer, sound s like a sound trade to me. But take the time to look the blazer over with a fine tooth comb and make sure its sound and well built.

Re: Trading, what do ya think
No offense taken. It's not really my style but it is kinda fun to have and drive. Yes, I'm deffinatly going to thoroughly check the blazer out. I don't wanna get stuck with some peice of crap that can't be fixed. I've been there to many times now. I'm mainly wanting the two motors the guy has but I don't want to trade just for the motors. So I just figured that the blazer is pretty cool so I'll give it look and see.

Re: Trading, what do ya think
If your P/U is ready to go get parts, Id get the Blazer.......make sure you check what type of $$$$$$$ your getting into beforehand. The Blazer will be easier and cheaper to fix than the Camaro also; always a plus in my world.

Re: Trading, what do ya think
Well the 66 is no parts getter just yet. But it's very close. And I know what you mean about the build cost difference. Just for the turbo kit that I would like to get for the Camaro is around $4000 and thats not counting the cost to build the engine to handle it. And then all the other crap I'd like to do. I'm not exactly sure how much work has gone into the blazer so far but I thing most of the hard stuff has been done. I know alot has been done to it.

Re: Trading, what do ya think
Well, The blazer was very cool and all. But I did not get it. Way to much work needed and I'm not prepared to do it. So instead I got this BADASS 1978 Camaro Z28. It's got one killer V8, sounds killer, very loud flow master exsaust, and much more. Need paint only. Anyway here are some pics.
