lift blocks or new springs?
Just wondering if you guys have had any bad experiences with lift blocks on your rear springs?? My springs are fine, so i figured i could save some money by going with blocks and just put new springs on the front.
it's a 71 4x4 I know this would better suit the 4x4 forum, but they don't seem to get much response when posted there........Any thoughts?? thanks |

Add a leaf in the back you mean?? I've had experience with add-a-leaves in the past on my Jeep YJ. I wasn't happy with the lift at all !! In sank to nearly stock height again and made the ride even worse than it was before! I think i'll either go with blocks to maintain the ride, or new spring packs.......no A-a-L's, but thanks for the suggestion

A 2 1/2-3 " block should be fine in the rear.....blocks are a no no up front tho.......crazyL

If you are only going 3", go with the block in the rear. Like crazy said, blocks are a no no up front!! If you go with springs in the rear it will cost more money and will sacrifice a little of the ride quality.

How much 4x4ing will you be doing. If you're looking for flex, go with new springs. If you just looking to clears some tires and save some $, go with blocks.
