Re: another CL find...
OH MAN!! I want it so bad. I have been looking for a solid original 71 or 72 suburban. I just drove back with my father in law from Arkansas with his newly purchased 72 suburban. Of course right now I have no money due to bieng out of work for 2.5 weeks because of the hurricane.

Re: another CL find...
If only Tejas wasn't so far from AZ, the owner can't meet me part way and it will not run without pretty major parts/repair. Alas, my burb fix still yearns!

Re: another CL find...
Well everyone I went to Austin on this one! Let me tell you that it is now residing in my driveway in Houston. This is by far the cleanest and most unmolested original suburbans I have ever seen. It has 402 bb, turbo 400 trans, positrac rear, a/c, power steering, power brakes, and about 20 other options. All three rows of original seats, floormats, side panels, and headliner pieces are there and look almost new.
There is a slight spot of rust over the windshield and in the top hatch rear door. Other than that there isnt even a pin hole not even in the roof along the rain rails, doors or lower gate, or in the rocker panels. Except for the hood the original paint looks like it will buff out to look very close to new. I am very excited about working on this. Not sure what he told 70rs/ss, but from what I can tell it needs a new gas tank, and the brakes need work. Other than that the electronics seem good and the engine runs when gas is poured down the carb. I will make my own thread and upload pics and progress. Re: another CL find...
WOW! Glad I could help you find that beauty. I knew it was too nice to just sit and rot, I didn't realize it had the 402, though! Sounds like a great find...I will send you a bill for my finders fee commision.

Re: another CL find...
Critter, I am so sorry I didnt even think about thanking you for your hand in this. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!! I am in your debt, because without you I would have not looked in the Austin CL. I usually just look in Houston and Dallas CL. If you need a part and I have it consider it yours or anything like that. I really feel like I should reward you in at least some way.
Hart rod I want to post pics so bad but I am not allowed to do that at work. Unfortunately I dont have internet at home so I must do it from my wifes office. But dont worry on friday I am planning to start a thread on it and will be posting many pics. |
