Engine Mounts/Frame Brackets for a 71 C/10

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I have a question. I know this sounds weird but, the 350 engine in my 71 c10 is worn out, and I was given a 350 Oldsmobile engine that was rebuilt. I would like to install this engine in my truck. I've been told that the crossmember/front end is a pretty close match to a 1973-80 chevy/gmc truck. I have the motor mounts and frame brackets from a 1980 Chevy truck that had a 350 olds diesel engine in it from the factory. these mount bolt right up to the olds 350 gas engine. My question is the frame brackets- will the bolt up to the crossmember/frame of my 71? Anyone have any experience putting 73-80 frame mounts in our trucks? Thank you all for any help you might offer.

Re: Engine Mounts/Frame Brackets for a 71 C/10

Thanks for the welcome. I still have not found any info on this subject though. I really don't want to take the running sbc out and find out this won't work without butchering my truck as I plan to put the original engine back in when funds are there to give it a rebuild. The rebuilt Olds motor was given to me and only has about 8000 miles on it. I figure you can't beat a free motor. I just don't want to cut up my truck to use it. Any info out there among all yuo 67-72 experts?

I thought you would have got a response by now. I know there are several trucks with the olds gas engine around. Anyhow here is a link to using 73-87 sbc mounts in a 67-72. I doubt if there is too much difference. Another difference is the bell housing. You will need a BOP pattern or an adapter.

Hey, Thanks for that link, that looks like exactly what I need. I already have the BOP adapter for my trans. I scored a set of frame mounts from a 1980 chevy pickup w/ an olds diesel today from a local salvage yard so I should be all set to put that Olds 350 in my truck and be able to enjoy driving it again. Thanks again. Nice 67, by the way!!
