Picture/info request. Dropped and ride height

I've seen several clean and amazing Trucks on this forum and its sorta become my second home since its my new love. I'm in the process of trying to figure out the future for my 65 Fleet LB which is in the find the rust and kill it phases when time/money allows. I also need to purchase new tires because the ones that are on it are IMHO to small and look odd. Coming from the Jeep side anything smaller than 33x12.50's look small.

We have been posting bagged trucks and lowered trucks is it possible to get photos of lowered height and ride height along with some wheel/tire info including backspacing and big mods performed to accomplish? Im not really looking for a complete step by step how you accomplished it but some quick basics like drop spindle or drop member unless of course you want to include your build thread in your post.

My goal is sorta to try and figure out what I can accomplish what what I got and to see what I can accomplish with some more funds. If there is another thread like this somewhere I do apologize and I didn't find it.

Actually thats exactly what I was looking for.

I just figured it gave everybody a chance to show off the extreme side as well. Looks like I'm in need of a 4/6 drop so far. However I'm still looking towards the adjustability of bags because I want to be able to adjust as needed.

Mine is not extreme, but it is a very usable 4.5" / 4" drop

Re: Picture/info request. Dropped and ride height

Thanks guys. I guess one thing I never thought to ask is how much clearence from the front cross member to the ground. Meaning is it going to scrap on crubs.

Re: Picture/info request. Dropped and ride height

I've probably got about 4"-5" of clearance at the front crossmember - I've never scraped it on anything.

Re: Picture/info request. Dropped and ride height

I did 5.5" in front w/ springs and spindles. The rear is a leaf set-up thats flipped; not sure how much one loses w/ that. I also dont know if any leafs were removed. I used a 26.5" tall tire and 5.25" backspacing. I have about 2-3" to the a-arms but I have only scraped 1 time. I have been driving low trucks for 15yrs so I have plenty of experience avoiding things.

Re: Picture/info request. Dropped and ride height

Mines dropped 5 1/2 in the front with 2 1/2 drop spindles & 3 inch drop springs and it has 5 inch drop springs out back. I have 3 to 3 1/2 clearance at the cross member. I have to get a running start with the floor jack to wedge it under it! The A arms hang down even lower though, there is probably only 2 2 1/2 inches of clearance under them! I don't straddle anything on the highway anymore since I tried to run over top a dead possum and ended up dragging it down the road... I still don't think it's low enough though but it will definitely have to have adjustable suspension (air bags) when I go lower or it won't be very drivable. Believe it or not it still rides great though. I'm running Doetsch Tech shocks on all four corners & it rides better than it did with the stock coils with one round cut out and near new Monroe Gasmatic shocks. I really have been pleased with the Doetsch Tech shocks. I put a set of Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks on my '97 Silverado reg cab and they would bounce 2 or 3 times when you hit a big dip in the road and they cost like 70 or 80 bucks each! The Doetsch Techs are much, much cheaper. Oh yeah, the tires are 255/60/15, I have a new set of 275/60/15 Tiger Paws that I may try on it one day though. I have plenty of room now that I swapped the fleet side bed on...

Re: Picture/info request. Dropped and ride height

Yessssssss!!!!!!! Mean low!!!!!!! I have told many people of dragging a cat down the street in my old 2-wheel drive Blazer ( I didnt hit it). Doing 45mph it thumped all the way down the bottom of the truck.......sorry folks, just a true story.

Oh yeah, when you do get a jack wedged under there finally, your coils fall out cuz they are so short.

2"/4" spring drop using Early Classic springs. I've lowered it even more since these pictures but don't have any new pics yet...maybe this weekend.
