Re: Pimpin!!!! (burb is done-ish)

Dingfodgy... I *hope* to get the assorted colors covered in yellow tinted epoxy primer here soon-ish, like, maybe before spring, I do still need to install the new tailgate and hatch. I just want it to be all in the same color... at least, from a distance. The paint and body will have to wait till I find a better job, which is a little rough right now.
I gotta say, I am enjoying just rollin it as is at the moment. I just put about 125 miles on it today, just bumpin around town, and then did some freeway miles, out to springfield and back... I have to say, the ride is great, and the attention.... I could put a cat on the roof, set him on fire, and it wouldn't attract any more attention. I'm getting thumbs up from young teens, little old men, even some of the import guys are nodding.
I'm diggin it.
The not so future plans, include very black paint. I am still debating if i want to go sleek, and do it all in black, or more traditional, and have the roof and grill white... and if I do the white, I am still wondering if I want white white, or an antique, or bone white.
I got plenty of time to think about that though.

Re: Pimpin!!!! (burb is done-ish)

I like how you represented almost every GM truck color though...

looks good, with the nose job too..
Every time I see that door I think of our training helicopters at Fort Rucker. They always paint the side doors orange so that you can see them easier!!

Niiiicceeee!!!! I really like the look of those wheels and tires too. I hope you keep it this way and avoid the big bling in the future. I have a set just like that. They are on my sons burb right now. And considering the shape its in I think they look great on his too.

Re: Pimpin!!!! (burb is done-ish)

I like the bling wheels, but I also like the old school wheels... and rallys are right up there with the both of them.
I probably won't do bling wheels sor the simple fact that they are expensive. I have less than $500 wrapped up in the wheel/tire combo as you see here.
I like those numbers... esp when you figure, i have $400 in the tires alone.

Re: Pimpin!!!! (burb is done-ish)

I'm diggin the multi color. but then I am biased. it just screams "I am trying to fix her up but driving is so much fun". the wheels just set it all off perfectly.

no sir... it looked clean-ish, but pretty booring in comparison.

Remember, put the old coolant where the cat won't get to it.

I spent right around $450 bucks cleaning it up, and doing a stock cam swap.
Vacuum Advance can... 22.99
Cam shaft... 53.68
Lifter set ... 35.68
8 push rods 23.76
Assembly lube ... 7.24
V belt... 12.80
V belt...12.34
V belt...10.70
Gasket kit ... 50.70
2 exhaust donuts ... 2.32
2 motor mounts ... 17.66
8 plugs (R45TS) ... 14.90 (rememberr when they were a buck a piece???)
2 sets of manifold studs and nuts ... 8.54
2 cans semi flat black ... 14.58
2 cans chevy orange ... 10.18
EOS (zink oil treatment from the dealer) ... 15.39
