Shouldn't be any problem. You'll need the computer and wiring harness. Tap in to the curent wiring and do a "stand alone" set-up for the TPI.

Re: Tpi in a 67' ?

not too hard i got a tpi from an 89 iroc so i threw the engine and 700r4 in there. bought a speed density computer call mike at eficonnection in pennsylvaina....his harness is excellent and best bang for the buck. cheapest price i found in this country. then get your prom for speed density and plug in and go....from your tpi harness you only have 2 connect 3 wires 1 to fuel pump 1 to a power then 1 for ignition switch. its pretty simple....you dont have to go speed density but its easier i think its better and cheaper because you dont need a MAF sensor or air ducts. would post pics but it says they too large you can see the pic though in my avatar

Re: Tpi in a 67' ?

i dont want to buy a ready made harness so i need to jerk the engine harness, and computer outa my iroc and figure out wich wires go where and then i should be good ? another thing the engine is a 305 and i was wanting to do a 350 or a 327 or possibly a 302....would the computor properly run these engines ? i would like to run flat top's,headers and a small cam would that be possible ? and could you elaborate on the (prom ?) for speed dencity and why i wouldn wanna run a MAF sensor ? lots of questions i know...

Re: Tpi in a 67' ?

I had an 86 IROC. I pulled the computer, harness, and TPI system out and put it on my 350. Two websites helped me a lot:
www.jagsthatrun.com
www.chevythunder.com
I used the existing harness, but cut all the stuff off I didn't need. The Helms manual for the 86 IROC helped a TON on this part. The manual was about $70 but was well worth it. I learned a lot about the TPI system from that manual.
Since I was going from a 305 to a 350 I bought bigger injectors. I also had my chip reburned by Brian at www.tpichips.com. I told him what I was running, and he made the chip work for me.
There are a ton of threads on the board on TPI. Do a search. TPI may be a bit short for a search though, I will try a google search and see what I can scare up for you.

I am in the process of putting a TPI & 700r4 in my '70. I am going to try and do the wiring myself but I am just getting started on that. If you are going to do any modifications to the engine I think you will have to use the MAF setup. Speed Density isn't real friendly with engine mods... There is nothing wrong with a 305, I would go ahead and use it. I will see if I can find a thread or two on here that might help.

I also bought a booklet off of e-Bay that has a lot of good info in it. I will see if I can locate the auction again.
