mix and match

Im planning on converting to power brakes and mounting it on the firewall, but am unsure how to go about this. I bought a pedal assembly, booster and master cylinder out of a mid 80's suburban from a junkyard for about $20, with the plan that I would modify the pedal assembly to work on my 52 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup. Im now thinking for ease of installation and looks that I will go with a premade/fabed setup from CPP (or any other if anyone has suggestions!). Here is the thing, since I already have a booster and master cylinder, is it possible that I could just buy the pedal assembly from CPP and mount the booster and master cylinder from the suburban to it? Or what other booser will mount up to the CPP pedal assembly that the suburban master cylinder will bolt to. The booster and master cylinder seemto be new and to have been recently put on the truck before it went to the junkyard so Id like to use what I already have.

The reason for the switch/want to use the CPP assembly is because I still have the stock mechanical clutch & pedal and a throttle cable type gas pedal in place of the stock one, and the suburban pedal assembly would put the brake pedal right on the clutch pedal, and would need a bit of modifications to make it so its in the stock location.

here is the tread I started about using a 80's suburban pedal assembly

I may try calling CPP but I wanted to see if anyone had an idea or a way to go about this.

Thanks!

Re: mix and match

I'd check on the dia. of the booster as well. Think the kits use a smaller dia one.

Re: mix and match

the diameter of the booster in the kits is 8in.

Im also going to check on something at the junkyard this weekend. I already got something off of this truck that matches up perfectly with the 52 dash. I wont tell what until I know if it will work but unfortunately I must say its from a..a..a...f....o....r...d
