Doors?

So it's time to replace my doors. And of course at the moment I've only found some 68 doors that are clean, no speaker holes etc.

What year truck doors will work? I know the 69-72 doors will work of course, but I'm not sure about 67/68?

Any slight differences bt. the different years? ie. 72 door dimple at wing window etc.

Thanks for your help everybody.

Re: Doors?

Yes, those clean 68 doors will make/work just fine as donors for your 71 jimmy, as will any 67-71 truck doors (67 wings are a bit diff.), also remember to transfer the latch reinforcement plates over to your new found donor doors. Another difference on 72 doors besides the inner door dimple mentioned above and the door hardware, is that they are set up to mount the 72 type plastic door panels with 8 plastic push in type retainer clips instead of the four threaded square nut-sert/cage nuts that 67-71 doors used on the lower edge to secure the door panels.

Re: Doors?

Thanks Classic Bowties. I just wanted to make sure.

I will take the latch reinforcement off my driver door and transplant to the new door. The current pass. door is a cut down truck door and the PO didn't use the reinforcement, so I need to find one for the pass. side.

Thanks for mentioning the difference in the 67 wing window.

Re: Doors?

I'm working on doors also, not any Blazers locally to complare with. One door or the other has been replaced and cut down not real sure which one.I think that my latch plates are correct but could use a pic or two to verify.

Re: Doors?

When you go to doing your door mods, remember there is an excellent post on this modification in the index thread.
