Steering Column Paint...what color black?
I know that trucks with tilts had the column painted black. I need to know was it a gloss or semi gloss paint? Is there a paint number? Thanks.

Re: Steering Column Paint...what color black?
That's a good question.... if I recall there's a board member that had his column powdercoated and had it done in semi. It looked good!
His board member started with "re" I can't recall his name.

Krylon "rattle can" semi-flat (or semi-gloss) Black.
Sem is another great product.....just not as easy to come by.

if you can find it,the Mar-hyde black satin automotive trim coating No.3811 is as close a match as any paint I have seen.

Re: Steering Column Paint...what color black?
I painted mine red along with the dash but I didn't like it so I used Por-15 gloss black, all you have to do is apply it with a paint brush so no worrys about overspray.

Re: Steering Column Paint...what color black?
It`s a low-gloss black, which is less shiney than a semi-gloss.The black columns on non-tilt trucks were gloss black.BTW,and not to be smart, but black isn`t a color and there`s only one.We just need to know the level of luster

Re: Steering Column Paint...what color black?
The reason that I am asking is...Curt willl start painting the truck in about 1-2 weeks and I want to match the column as close to the factory color as possible. Soooo it looks like No. 3811 so far seems to be a winner. Thanks.
