Is there a good way to check panhard bar and rear control arm bushings for wear or slop. My bushings all look good no cracks or anything visible. The problem is one rear tire is out about and inch from the frame than the other tire. Could this be from sagging old coil springs also? I need a front aligment done but I'm afraid the truck will dog track if I don't fix this rearend problem first. Thanks, 1967 chevy C20 (Ed)

Could be a wrong wheel, wrong track bar or worn bushings or worn bushing in the front of the trailing arms. also the bed on crooked

Why not put it on the alignment rack? It would be a way for a good front end person to answer your questions.

The track bar may be bent, which would pull the rear end to one side, too. Looking at the bushings, you should be able to tell if they are bad. Look for cracking around the perimeter of the bushing. If it is the problem, then the bolt won't be centered in the end of the bushing eye.

if one tire is 1" closer to the frame than the other the rear is only 1/2"offcenter not a big deal not much to worry about

Has the truck been lowered? I know when I lowered my truck it was off center until I installed the adjustable track bar. Just a thought.

The truck hasn't been lowered. I checked the rear wheels and both have the same offset. I took it to a alignment shop, they said they only had specs back to '83. I was looking forward to them doing the work because they give you a printout of where it was, where it's supposed to be and where it is when they are supposedly done. I had the alignment done when I bought new tires last, it never has been right. So I won't go back there. I will check the track bar to see if it is bent. And I will hunt for another alignment shop.
