changing a truck from a 3 speed to an Automatic
do i need a different crossmember for the tanny?
or can i use the same one that i have for the # speed... one mount in that back? |

you need to remove the crossmember that is under the engiine/bellhousing and you'll also need an automatic tranny crossmember to go under the tailshaft of the tranny

You need a different trans mount and a different starter the starter for the manual trans mounts to the bellhousing. The one you need for the automatic mounts to the engine block with a stright across bolt pattern or a staggered one. The auto crossmember has 2 small peaces on the ends that has to fit between the frame. I just drilled out the rivets an used only the bottem part of the crossmember my trans guy said it is strong enough.
