Anyone know how tight to torque the spindle nut?
I was looking to see if anyone knew the FT LBS for the spindle nut that holds on the rotor?

Re: Anyone know how tight to torque the spindle nut?
That is one you probably will not ever get a for sure answer. Now is below what I do, but doesn't mean its correct.
What I did was install my bearings packed with grease and tighten down so it was snug and I knew the bearings where pressed into place. I then just grabbed the rotor and rocked it back and forth and made sure there was no wiggle play and made sure there was no drag on the drum. If there is any wiggle which I usually check in the 12 and 6 o'clock positions buy pushing and pulling to see if it rocks on the spindle its needs to be tightened a little bit. |

I tighten until the rotor is very difficult to turn by hand then back off just enough to line up the castle nut with the thru-hole on the spindle and install a NEW cotter pin.
Never had a problem. |

Re: Anyone know how tight to torque the spindle nut?
My book says to torque it NO MORE than 12 foot pounds, then back it off & then tighten it up as tight as you can by HAND, then install cotter pin... If it wont go it, loosen it no half a flat
Hope that works for you |

I use a half inch impact and hammer down on it until it breaks! The advice above is what i use as well. Just tighten it up until there is no play in the bearings. Make sure you pack the bearings good.
