L/D or H/D brakes when buying wheel bearings?

Hi guys. I really appreciate all the great info on this site.

I'm putting ECE dropped spindles on my 72 SWB and when I went to buy new wheel bearings, there was a choice between Heavy Duty and Light Duty brakes. I assumed Light Duty (A6) but when I went to match them up with the new spindles, it looks like the inners are too small. Am I right in assuming I just need to go back and get the larger inner bearings (A5) and retain the outer (A3) because they are the same for both versions?

Also have a question on the relay that runs the high fan speed for the HVAC. It seems the high speed no longer works on my blower. Where is the relay located?

Honestly, I am not familiar with a HD brake for the front of a disk brake truck.

The blower motor relay, for a stock A/C truck, is on the bassenger side over the heater box... basicly behind the glove box.

My understanding is there are two sizes of rotor thickness. 1" and 1.25" (aka LD and HD). I thought '71/'72 factory rotors were the 1.25" thick ones, hence HD. I think it was later in the years (late '70 early '80) when the two different options were available.

When all else fails, call ECE as I know they are more then happy to help!

chevy mike... you are right as far as I know. I should have said i was not familiar with a HD brake for the front of a 71/72 truck

Thanks very much. I bought the correct inner ones today and should be all set. Also thanks for the relay photo. Very helpful.

This is a fun truck and I bought it as one that was "done". But they are never really done.

If I chase a few more leaks, stop a few more rattles, detail a few more parts, then it might be done. But then what would I have to do with my weekends, right?
