Clean '85 on local lot

Had a chance to look at this one over the weekend but didn't get to peel under the hood as the dealer was closed. It is hella clean but I really want a 73-80--I know I could swap front ends but I really don't have that kinda time these days. Anyways, just thought I would share

Re: Clean '85 on local lot

The paint job is super nice on this one too--not some weekend project. Depending on what's under the hood, the price may not be that bad. Would like to know the story behind why it wound up on the lot though. . .

I have seen some around OKC that need lots of work for 4-5K

Don't think he does that but who knows. Even if not, there should be a lot of negotiating room on the price being that it is not an indy sale. . .

My opinion,

A little pricy right now, but if still in that shape in 5-10 more years will bring 11-12k.

Like it or not the price on these trucks are going up ! I cant tell you how many times i turned down $ 12,000 plus on my avitar truck. It was dropped 5-6 with a set of 20" Torque Thrust, stock 305 and all !!

Re: Clean '85 on local lot

Seems like I have been seeing alot of trucks for really cheap lately. I feel like you can still get a clean squarebody ready to be driven everyday for around $5k. Less for a LWB. But then I see alot of guys that ask for 9-10-12k for nice trucks too--I don't know if they sell, all I know is-I didn't buy em.

Re: Clean '85 on local lot

For 9 grand, you should be able to find a "Frank Monroe special" somewhere thats been sitting in a barn for 25 years

Thatr one might be worth 6k --- oh , and the price is always highly negotiable at those places too

I bought a nice truck for $2600 that the owner had been asking 4k for at a place like that in OKC

What he is asking and what he is taking may be 2 different things, money talks. It does have the ultra rare double spray in bedliner option...

Re: Clean '85 on local lot

I was very surprised when I was at the dealer hunting my color for the truck, one of the shop guys wanted to give me $8k for my 78 c20 even though it was wrecked!

He kept bugging me whenever he saw me. Was ready to go to the bank right then and pay me. I probably should have done it, but i like my truck, and almost have it finished now, so I can overlook it

Re: Clean '85 on local lot

Maybe it is just my area but i have seen a drop in prices around here too. they where on the rise but it is probably the economic situation that has lowered truck values locally...........
