Black cab
I am new to the community. I currently have a 1970 half ton 4x4 with a 350 wood bed and almost no other factory options. I am considering selling it and buying a 1972 cheyenne super custom camper. The truck has factory air, big block, factory tach and is in pretty good shape. It also has a factory black cab with red/orange body. I have never seen this before and was wondering if anyone knows how rare this paint option might be. Thanks! This is a great site!

Re: Black cab
Uhh...I don't think this setup would be factory. Maybe a dealer re-paint for a special fleet customer or something. Got any pictures?

Re: Black cab
do you mean black cab ROOF with orange? If so, it's an odd ball. We've seen one other on here recently.
You'll never find out how rare it is though. They didn't keep records on that kind of stuff for thet rucks. |

Re: Black cab
If that's the case I see where it is possible. I was picturing and ENTIRE CAB. Longhorn's idea make more sence though.

Re: Black cab
Normal two-tones got a white roof on the cab. Look at your SPID on the glove box door and see (if it is still there) and look for paint codes. Let us know what they are. It'll help decipher the paint conundrum.....although it won't say diddly about rarity.

Re: Black cab
Thanks for the replies. I should have been more specific, I was talking about the roof color. It does say red-orange and black on the SPID so it was from the factory I assume ordered that way. I will post some pictures soon.

Re: Black cab
Here are some pics of the truck I wrote about yesterday. The current owner is prepping the cab for paint. Hopefully I can get my hands on it as soon as I sell my 70.

Re: Black cab
Wow, that's a nicely optioned truck. It looks like a very desirable truck, IMO.

Re: Black cab
And just in time for Halloween! I have never seen one like that, pretty interesting. Definitly worth getting if possible!

Re: Black cab
Is that a plastic cover I see on the seat? That seat looks perfect! Very nice truck!! Odd though with the black dash pad and white door panels.
