Question Another E-brake question

Went ahead and bought the e brake cables and main cable from inline tube, should have done it in the first place but was trying to save some money, keep telling my self this truck is not going to get out of hand. Now my question can any one post a picture of the 72 short bed intermediate cable hook ups? I looked at a friends 71 shortbed and now think I am missing some pieces- they were not there when I took the truck apart, but were they ever there is the question? #1 At the end of the adjuster that connects the foot brake to the intermediate brake cable is a hole, the 71 had a long spring that attached to the end and to the rear crossmember of the cab #2 there was a long "j" rod that attached to the cable in a forward position, it looks as though there is a bracket just for the rod (truck I was looking at was auto mine is 4 speed) but no sign of this rod attach point on my truck. oes any one have pictures of 4 peed swb truck e brake components and if I am missing parts do you have any for sale? Thanks in advance, Harold

Not sure this will help...but here are a bunch of detailed pics of my truck as I was taking it apart...scroll through them there are some parking brake detailed pics..

Also, do you own the assembly manual (AIM)?....if not I would suggest getting one...It was my first purchase after I bought the truck...an absolute must have!

Re: Another E-brake question

Dan Thanks for the pictures. Yours looks like mine right now w/o the spring or other hanger rod. I do have the assembly manual but there is very little dedicated to the 71-72 4x4 in it and there are some changes in the years. The 71 I was looking at yesterday had been restored but not a frame off which leads me to believe that it was correct. This is my first 4x4 version of these trucks so you will have to pardon the questions- 2wd I can do but this has been a learning experience. Question about your truck. Were was it built and what size are the id marks sencilled on the frame, also are there any others?
