We are going to Redline tonight for the Top Gun 5.80 index race . It will be alot of fun getting to race without the throttle stop for a change . I still have to figure out how to slow it down though . I've been called out by one of my old rivals with a little red T-Bird (if we have time to run ) also . If any of you Dallas area members come out stop and say hello .

Good luck! I love to go there tonight. But, I'm already committed to taking the stepdaughter and 6yo Grandson to the ADRL finals at the Motorplex in Ennis.

We had fun ! I will probably go back for more of them next year . I only got one open time trial before our two qualify rounds . First pass it bounced the frontend up four times and went 5.77 @ 121 , second run went a little better and I went 5.76 @ 114 on the brakes , third run got out of shape pretty bad and coasted through to a 5.94 . I had to run the #2 qualifier first round , he had me on the tree and I just pedaled it beside him . I went 5.807 to his 5.804 and he went on to win the race with two bye runs and a red light . My buddy's T-Bird broke but I went out and made one more run . The last pass it was spinning some but still went 5.703 @ 122.65 . I had a broken exhaust hanger (10 yrs old) so we loaded up and took it to the house . I sure was hoping for some 5.60's but I know they are there so maybe next time .

Hey Regan if you dont mind me asking , how much flywheel hp do you think your engine makes?
My 565 dynoed at 1011 at 7400 , I havent pushed it hard yet but so far I am in the 6.60 range which is scary fast for a newby..

I didnt dyno this one . My iron block motor made 1224hp @ 7500 and 930tq @ 6300. Since aluminium blocks dont make as much power I would say 1200 and 900 .

Also , I dont know what yours weighs but mine ran 6.08 in the 1/8th and 9.60 in the 1/4 @3800lbs with a 950hp 565 . You should be able to run in the 5's in the eight once you get it lined out .

I have some trans issues right now, something wrong with high gear, wheels would stop spinning when I shift to high during burnout but did seem to pull during race.
Anyway if I ever get it all together she should be alot of fun..
