taking out gauge cluster

is there any tricks i couldnt get the knob off the headlight switch to get gauge cluster out?i tried pulling and unscrewing it didnt have a set screw but my windshield wiper knob did.

Yep, you have to reach up behind the dash & push a little relese button on the headlight switch. The knob shaft will slide out once released. Then the chrome bezel unscrews from the switch.

Sometimes you have to have the mouth in the correct position. Facial expressions can also be of help.

SIDE NOTE: Disconnect the battery, when you pull out the headlight switch shaft your head lights are on. FYI
