Re: 1968 options ??????

The Chevrolet Red Book for Pickups has all the options listed, production numbers, VIN decoding etc. Covers '47-'72 IIRC. Not a bad book for $12.

Re: 1968 options ??????

http://www.classicparts.com/1947-72-...info/05%2D021/

Search Amazon for #0879387718, the Chevy Truck Red Book from Sussler. The link won't copy correctly.

Amazon had both of these books. The one that Classic Parts carries might be better reading. For each model year, the red book has a few paragraphs of what changed from last year, then production and option info. HTH.

Re: 1968 options ??????

There's another book, "Standard Catalog of Chevrolet Trucks 1918-1995" that also lists the options, production, pricing, etc., that is worth owning, too. I think John Gunnell is the author, and Krause Publications is the publisher.

I got both it, and the Red Book from Amazon.
I don't remember the exact prices, but they were quite reasonable, IMO.
As a side note, on the occasions that I do shop @ Amazon, I generally go more by "buyer feedback/reliability" or whatever they call it; than price alone.
I checked out amazon and others for the red book and they all cost $2700 to $100 .
I did find one in Boise Id for $19.95 plus shipping and bought it ,, the store has a good rating also and ,,well ,,as for condition of the book ,, we all have our own ideas on that ,,I will find out in 14 days when it arrives.. thanks all for the leads on where to begin to find the book.. papa

I don't think I paid more than $20, or so, for either; and I think 1 was new, and was was in "nearly new" condition.

Re: 1968 options ??????

honestly, i found the red book to be not worth it. I had one, and sold it.
The one up there for the standard catalog of... is a good one, but it doesn't show all of them either.
The best thing is free stuff from GM... search for restoration catalog.. it's been posted many times.
