bleach to smoke the meats?
hey guys, just thinkin about some novalty things to do to the 67 when its on the road, i wanna get some flame throwing exhaust for sure but also i was thinking about getting a wiper fluid resevoir and a pump and running lines to some sorta mister that sprays down infront of the rear tires or on the tires..whatwould it be? and has anyone done this or know how..and what are some possible problems that may occur..is it a bad idea to begin with?? i just thought it would be cool to have tons and tons of smoke when you spin the tires....
thanks, Derek

Oddly enough....
If my memory serves me right (which it may not), there was an option on the 66/67 maybe 68 Chevelles with the 396 that included a traction system which consisted of a pump, switch and squirters for the rear tires. It was designed to spray tire traction (like VHT). But any liquid would work. I also heard of a guy with an older vette (bone stock looking of course) in the NY area that had the coolest sleeper...seperate tank for race gas, auto switched cutouts, NOS of course and a setup like your talking about. I would think it would be easy to make.

Ah.. The old "liquid tire chain". It was offered on a few GM passenger cars in the late 60's although I think 69 was the last year. Not many were ordered because it was, well... a stupid idea. Anyway it was designed to spray anntifreeze on the rear tires for better snow and ice traction . Ive only seen one and it was under a 67 camaro in a junkyard in Ohio. That was back when a 67 camaro in a junkyard wasnt a shocking sight. If I had the brains at the time I would have grabbed it. Those things are worth big bucks to the "have all the obscure options" crowd.
Same junkyard had a convertible 69 pace car camaro smashed under 3 other cars. Houndstooth interior and all. I did manage to get the 12 bolt out of that one. Threw it under mine and drove it for 3 years.

I've done the washer pump thing with bleach for burnout contests! LOL it works great. You can also soak sawdust tires in bleach before a contest. I'd like to get a flame thrower kit also.

Or you could just build a stronger engine. They'll smoke just fine without any liquid if you can get them spinning fast enough

I will say that bf goodrich radial t/a's smoke real good by themselves!! It may not be bright white, and it sure don't smell too good, but it's amazingly easy. My stinky, old, worn out 350 can spin one fast enough. I'll get a pic sometime for ya'll.
