1968 C10 engines

Can anyone tell me what engines came stock in the 1968 c10's.Im tring to build mine back to original.....Any info would be useful.

Mine came with a too-fiddy and had a top speed of about 58 mph! lol

go with a new genIII 327 from a Tahoe.. then it's "like" original and very cool!

Mine came with a 283 and was thinking about putting one back in but I read that the last year it came in was 67.

Im finding it hard to find an original 68 V8 for my truck so I found a 283 out of a 67 and Im thinking of rebuilding that one and puttin it in what do you guys think?

I`m building a`67 and wanted a 327.I got lucky.Although not a`67,I got a`68 large journal/steel crank from a truck and rebuilt it.It was pretty inside,musta been low miles.

I see 327's on craigslist all the time. Might be from Impala's but it's period correct... usually see blocks for $100-200...

I also found a website that has remanufactured 327's but they are the same price as newer 350 crates ($1800)

Yeah I have seen quite a few 327's on craigslist but didnt know what came stock in the 68's, but now i do....
