How much was a 68' Shortbox CST-10 sold for in 68? Just need an average price.

The original list price on mine, as the state has listed on my title, was a bit over $2500...of course, it's a '70 GMC.

Edit: Said truck also had factory power brakes, steering, A/C, 350 4bbl, 3.73 rear, and full chrome...I'm pretty sure my grandpa got a good deal on it seeing as it was a 1970, first purchased and titled in October of 1970 when the front-disc 1971 trucks would've been out.

In Washington and some other states the original purchase price is on the title . They used to use it for property and excise tax evaluations based on a 10 year depreciation curve . Those taxes have been sh!tcanned but its just on there now because it would quite literally take an act of congress to get it removed.

your forgetting inflation.... 3000 back then probbaly went ALOT farther than it does today.

I dont have mine in front of me but if memory serves right on the washington title the original purchase price is located on the lower left hand side and is in really small red numbers

remember the prevailing wages were a bit different back then too. I talked to my dad who was working as a non destructive testing engineer for NASA doing Xray weld analysis in 1968. He was making $8 an hour. Good money back then.

I bought a new 70 Custom Deluxe long bed, v-8, 3-speed, ps. It listed for just over $3100. I paid right at $2700. It did have chrome bumpers and upper and lower side moldings. Also ww tires and deluxe hubcaps. Also had two tone paint.

Dad bought a new 64 with a radio for around $2,000. I bought a new 74 with radio for $3,000. A friend bought a new 75 with radio for almost $4,000. That's when pickup prices started to skyrocket.

my truck was bought for $3100 in 71 used w/ 1300 miles on it. I am the third owner. the guy I bought it from had it for 30 years, I almost had to pry him away from it. The only reason I got it was his health was failing and he couldn't get(fit) behind the wheel.
