put the bondo down and step away from the truck
Well I spent 45 min taking all the bondo and 4 layers of paint off of my front pass fender today..... I wonder if the wife will notice I have been sanding in the garage? LOL. Looks like it snowed on all the stuff in there... guess i should have done it outside. Patched up the bottom of the fender and am working on the front patch. Will post pics when she is all welded up. Any sugs on the best way to get all the "gunk" and weather coating off the back of the fender?

 .....I always like the multicolored boogers too!!! Some of that undercoat can be a sticky mess. Maybe a wire wheel and finish up with a grinding disc(flap disc).Post some pics as you go, Im about to do that on my 'burb passenger fender also.

To get undercoating off it helps to heat it up a litle bit and scrape it off, of course not so much you cause warpage. You can use something like a heat gun......or maybe the wife's hair dryer......

I've used just a propane torch with a scraper to remove undercoating AND Bondo. Both just pop loose and I haven't had a problem with warping the sheet metal. Just heat from the opposite side.

i used the torch method for a while then found out that the Aircraft Remover (Paint Stripper) works really well! just brush it on let it sit for 15 mins and you can scrape it off right down to bare metal....
