Wheels and Paint questions??

I'm in the market for a cheap but nice lookin' wheels for a temporary set till I can afford a nice set. What kind of wheels should I look for that aren't hideous? Also will like 2000+ take offs fit my 6 lug pattern? And now comes the expensive part... PAINT! I've been sanding and priming on my 67 for about 3 sloid months now, the paint is going to look like a darn show car as far as prep goes. What kind of Paint are you guys using on your cars? I've always sprayed high end PPG. But paint prices shure have gone up! So I was thinking of maybe using Crossfire by NAPA. Anyone sprayed this before?
Thanks alot guys!!!!!!

Re: Wheels and Paint questions??

don't know about the paint, but maybe you should use a set of rally wheels...they are plentiful and easy to find!

Re: Wheels and Paint questions??

Here's a pic of what I have on my truck now, they were just some old steel wheels I had around, don't have any idea what happened to the original wheels. They were all chiped up, so yesterday I painted them black, looked to blauh so I taped off the lip and painted the lip silver. These are just temporary till I get my truck finished and painted. My truck was my dads back in the day an then sat out back for 27 years. So the original wheels were gone, probally on a haywagon around here someplace. lol And Brad, are those the same wheels that would of came on my truck, it was originally a 6 cyl/3 speed longbox, now its a 327 V8/3 speed on the tree, shortbox??????
Thanks!

Re: Wheels and Paint questions??

I got these for the mid $400's shipped, nice light alum wheels, I should have gone with 16" to get a better selection of back spacing.

Re: Wheels and Paint questions??

well, the rallys came in 15X7 on vans (mid 70s till early 90's), and 15X8 on trucks, in both 5 and 6 lug (73 - 87)
Aftermarket ones can be had in 10 inch wide, and then any kind of custom size you could dream up.
They can be had cheap if you can locate them in a junk yard... or on the parts board here, 100 bucks a set is fair for decent ones.

Re: Wheels and Paint questions??

Bear,

also check your local craigslist....seems they are on there some times too....OR check the parts for sale section on THIS board...I'm sure I've seen some here too....maybe by a board subscription for $25 (The best $25 you'll ever spend) and post a want to buy (WTB) ad....

Good luck...
