Some questions about 79 chevy trucks
I have a chance to pick up a 79 swb with a inline 6 and 3speed. He says its all there but this will be my first 73-87 pickup. I was wondering if i could get some info about the trucks in general. He said he would throw in a 6inch drop for the front from chisholm suspension but i have never heard of them. Iam wondering if its a good deal and i what i am looking forward too. Any info would be great thanks!

Re: Some questions about 79 chevy trucks
How hard is it to find parts for this year model? i happen to have a cab and front clip at my dads but i dunno about the bed or what not. I want to bag this and kinda be my starter project and keep my 71 on a static drop. I love n2trux look and actually the reason i have got in to this year model. For a 100 buck i cant complain too much he said it ran when he parked it.

Chisholm has been around a long time. Did you get spindles and springs, or lowered control arms?

Nice thats what i wanted to hear on the 12 bolt, i have posi unit and 2 sets of gears for it. I plain on dropping a v8 in it within 48 hours haha, i found a corvette lt1 out of a 93 for 50$. He said it had a mild knock but i would imagine it sound's like my little nephew with a hammer Chuck, Thanks! actually that came in handy for my 71 and the 79. I need to find the link to send off for the info from gm. N2TRUX, you inspired me to spend more money! No i really like your truck and theres a few others. i looked to see what you did suspension wise but never really found any thing, but from the looks of it bags up front and flip and spring pack in the back? Re: Some questions about 79 chevy trucks
79 is my favorite......most of the one's iv'e known have all been 12 bolts.the only real differnce between 79's and the years around them is cosmetic.the grille and the big indentifier of a 79 is the light surround(see pic) has the turn signal wrapped in with it.good luck with it.
