Re: Daytona Sunset Orange

Have you seen that color in person? I have two friends: one has a newer vette that is "Daytona Sunset Orange" and my other friend has a vette that is "Atomic Orange". The Atomic Orange is lighter and looks better IMO. Sometimes, depending on the light and stuff, the Daytona Orange looks brown. I like to aggravate my buddy all the time and call it brown, it really gets under his skin. lol I've got to drive the Atomic Orange one, but not the brown one... hmmm, maybe if I called it orange...

Before you decide on that color you might want to check cost of materials and labor. I believe that is a three stage paint. It will cost much more in materials and labor to apply.

Re: Daytona Sunset Orange

hugger orange is a 69 camaro firebird color.. any good automotive paint suplier can mix it for you. i am painting my 68 stepper that color. $385 a gallon for "chromabase" $185 for "nason" both are dupont brands. i was told it is a "mid priced color" i will look into ppgs dbc color. i will be using "transtar clear on it. less expensive and nice stuff i recently used it on a a tricoat van i did buffed out nicely. i have used much more ppg than dupont. i would be concerned about matching a pearl or metalic orange i do not have the facilities to spray the whole truck at once the hugger orange will spray and match easily. for a diy

Re: Daytona Sunset Orange

Well I can get my paint and materials for next to nothing and I have a family friend who does our paint. I'm just going to have to talk to him to see if he's up for it.
