I just bought a 70 model C/20 that I was going to use for parts. The truck has no rust in the bed (long Fleetside) and a couple little spots in the floors. Rockers,fender,roof,and everywhere else is rust free. I put good gas in the tank and it purrs like a kitten. The question is what year model DANA rearends swaps into a C/20? The truck has an EATON rear end now. Thanks

If you really want to get rid of the eaton, I would recommend a newer 14 bolt full floater myself. I have seem some for sale for as low as $75 for a complete unit. If you get one from a '73+ 1 ton, it will have the same spring spacing as your current axle (assuming you have rear leafs, you didn't say) but I believe the shock mounts are different.

Thanks, its a coil spring truck.Is the EATON worth rebuilding?

the eaton is a tough unit, but it's been out of production since 72. A 4.10 gearset is the most freeway friendly you'll find, and the parts are getting harder and harder to get too. Same with the brake parts and drums in some aplications.
