Hood sanding Problom
I'm having trouble searching for something to stop my hood from oil canning when i try to block sand it. What should I do?

Do you have the factory support pads under all the braces? They stiffen up the hood a good bit.

Hood insulator kit, or hood pads, something along those lines, everyone should carry it. They won't stop the oil canning completely but does help a good bit. The pads go in between the hood skin and the support braces that run front to back.

Go to Home Depot, Lowes or Grainger. Look for or ask someone for "Cork Tape", (can't remember the brand name). It's black and sticky on both sides, paper separated. Looks identical to original that's used on a lot of early cars/trucks. I forget the exact price, but it is cheap. Comes in a 25 ft. roll to do many trucks over. it is around 2" wide X 1/8th" thick. This may be the same stuff that vendors sell. They just cut pieces to sell as a kit.

But LMC does have some good graphics on their catalog that we use quite often for id purposes...
 Anyway, regarding the padding for the hood. The stuff I got from Brothers was just thick rubber pads without any glue. I will caution you when prying the braces and the hood up for installation- be careful you don't bend the sheetmetal. Try to use a wide flat wooden wedge or similar item. And, yes, I bent mine slightly...
