I forgot the obvious, a Chevy cab switch on a GMC frame. This would explain the Chevy dashboard and GMC rear leaf springs.

The VIN plate on the top of the cab just over the driver's side window said it was a GMC, and the guy said the title was also, although I didn't look.

It was solid for around here, where there's not much that's old and rust-free. There's not much in the way of these trucks around here. This is the second rusty GMC that I've been interested in trading for. I think a lot of this one's worth was the engine (which was badass) and the fact that it was a short fleet.

yeah I sold a '64 short fleet big back window a couple months ago. it made this one look like brand new

not just rust but tons of bondo, hacked to pieces wiring, and an abortion of an old I-6 swap. It was a real gem. the guy I sold it to just wanted it for parts and he is selling off the stuff he didn't need. but the worst part is I got it from my cousin

i guarantee he won't ever work on (or even touch) any of my stuff

found an early '60's 4 door caddy today in Norman, they want 2 grand looks to be a runner. I thought it would make a good family cruiser, but the wife made me see the error of my ways
