Go have a beer with a veteran today!
We are loosing our "Greatest Generation" at an alarming rate.
Father, Grandfather Great Grandfather, Uncle, Friend, Neighbor, or the old man at church. Go listen to their story, they all have one. Most think no one cares, I heard it a bunch when I worked at a major museum. I am spending this morning at the Veterans Day Ceremony, with my Uncle Ernie. He flew F6F Hellcats during WWII. Do it while you can.

my gramps flew Lancasters in WWII. got the Victoria cross for saving 2 men. Their plane caught on fire, he ran back pulled them out and landed the plane. If only he was still around to tell the story.

Re: Go have a beer with a veteran today!
I just got back from the Veterans Memorial Dedication.
150 people, and 4 my age or younger. I took time off for this and my wife is at DFW welcoming back boys from the sandbox. It was so powerful to stand next to my uncle, and amongst vets from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Balkans, and Iraq. Thank you for your service, so I can sit in front of my hanger and have a Shiner. The F-16 fly over was really awesome from the highest point in Denton County.

Re: Go have a beer with a veteran today!
Pop's served in WWII, and Korea, my Bro did a tour in Nam. Me, joined the Corps, saw no acction. I used to feel bad about it, till one day, my nighbor who was ( is ) a Marine and fought In WWII ( battle of Okinawa) purple heart, Korea purple heart, and did 3 tours in Viatnam Republic Of. He put it this way " You have no reason to feel bad, you joined , and were willing to fight, but you didnt, you dont have the bad dreams, see the faces of dead ones, or still smell them, there is no shame in that, the shame comes when you are called to the front and run away"
I'll be tipping a few with Ol' Lou today. Semper Fi happy b day USMC " A WARRIOR TRAINS FOR WAR , AND PRAYS FOR PEACE"
