Anybody made their own bumper brackets??
Hey,
I was just wondering if anybody has ever made their own rear bumper brackets for the regular(not step) bumper for a fleetside?? I can buy them locally, but he wants about $90(cdn.) for them! By looking at them, it looks pretty simple to fab. a set of them. If you guys have done this and have some pics of them, or tips, that would be awesome, too. Thanks Jason

I made rear bumper brackets for mine. It was pretty simple. Buy some strap iron from Home Depot - I think I used 1/4" by 2" - lay it against the rear frame. Mark and drill those holes. Bolt to frame. Bend. Mark bumper holes on strap iron. Drill. Bolt.
I'm sure it wasn't quite that easy; it took some maneuvering to get things lined up and the bends right, but I know I did it in an hour or two in my driveway. Hope this helps. Chris
