14bff lube question
This is embarrassing but..
Does the gear oil lube the wheel bearings in the hubs on a 14bff? When I pulled mine apart it seems like the answer is yes but when I look at the fill plug which seems to be below the axle tubes I think no.

If the diff is dry it will take a full gallon to fill 'er up

fill it up and drive it on a hill or jack it up on each side to get oil out there before ya drive.

Are you looking at the fill plug on the side of the axle housing or the drain plug in the housing cover?

The lube in the housing does lube the wheel bearings but if the hubs and bearing are dry when you put it back together you will need to fill it and jack each side up so the bearings don't start out dry or do what i do.Put some wheel bearing grease around the races.... not real heavy,just enough the the bearings don't start out dry.
