radiator for 350

I have a single core radiator that came installed on my truck. Is that going to be big enough to cool my truck? I have to 14 inch fans wired up but I'm probably going to reinstall my mech fan until I get a better fan relay.

Wow defiantly seems to small I like the 4 core rads but have run 3 cores before but nothing smaller! I would think that your truck would want to overheat but I don't know.

3 core is stock and you should have at least that. If purchasing new, I think it's worth it going for a 4 core for the same price. You just need the larger rubber pads which are still available from GM and will cost about $20 for all 4.

Re: radiator for 350

So it's going to over heat with the single core rad? Advance auto showed the single core rad as a direct replacement for my truck. It was the lowest model they had.

Re: radiator for 350

It all depends on what size core the truck came with stock.

If it's a 17" core, it will be a 3 core factory, if it's the HD 19" core the 350 came with a 2 core factory.

I recently upgraded mine from a 19" 2 core, to a 19" 4 core, all I had to do was get the proper rubbers in the rad support, and the 454 upper rad brace...and slightly trim the existing shroud to fit. It pushes the shoud about 1" into the fan, but the rear edges if the blade are at the end of the shoud for proper air pulling power.

Just my 2 cents

Re: radiator for 350

I looked in side and it is actually a 2 core radiator. The truck was a factory 305 powered vehicle. I never had a problem of the truck cooling before. The old hot rodded engine was just a piece of put together crap. Non-roller motor turned roller motor with missing internals + holley 450 carb + a whole lot of shade tree performance options. I guess the radio and the radiator was the only thing he did right.
