I need a measurement

Hey guys
I need a couple measurements off a 1957 frame.
If someone could measure the distance from the front of the front cab mount to the center mounting hole on the core suport and also to the end of the frame.
I'm fabing mine and need these to finish it.
Thanks.
Kim

Re: I need a measurement

Here are some I have saved over the years they may help.

Get an assebly manual it has a lot of the dims you need.

The task force frame is 55 ½ thru 57 is 178” and the 58 -59 is 180.5” overall
The front axle locates 150.50” inches from the rear frame end.
Front Axle C/L is approximately 27.50”on a 55 ½ - 57 and 30.50” on the 58 - 59 from the front frame end.
The front axle C/L is 29.50” from the front cab mount.
The radiator mount brackets should be 47.50” from the front cab mount and 30” wide.
The frame and boxing plates should be 0 .150” thick.
The crank shaft C/L should be 3 degrees down toward the back. Or the manifold carburetor mounting surface leveled.
The stock ride height, frame to ground is 25.6” in the rear.
Fender to fender in the front is 74.32” on the outside
Fender to fender on the rear is 76” on the outside
The frame is 34” wide front to back and the front rails slope downward after the front engine cross member.
114” wheel base.
The rear end locates 36.5 inches from the rear frame end with all extensions and brackets removed.
39.25” from the back of the cab to the C/L of the rear axle.
Front dash (firewall) is 98.25” from the C/L of the rear axle

hopefully they will be of use

Re: I need a measurement

Thanks Dave those help.
The only original part of my frame is what is under the cab. It has a front clip off of a 67 chevelle and the rear has been back-halved with a 4 link.

Re: I need a measurement

I just went out and measured it for you. From the front of the cab mount to the center of the radiator support hole is 47 Ύ. From the rear of the frame to the center of the radiator support hole is 169 Ύ. Now when I measured the cab mount I measure from the front of where it sits on the frame to the center of the radiator support hole. I hope this helps.

Re: I need a measurement

Thanks Myron
The core suport measurement helps.
If you could measure from the front cab mount to the front of the frame I would appreciate that very much.
Also does the front of the frame dip down and if so how much?
Thanks again.
Hows your truck coming?
Kim

Re: I need a measurement

Hey Kim57,

The measurement from the front cab (measure from the front of the mount where it sits on the frame) mount to the front of the frame is 56 1/4.

There looks to be a small dip of 1/2 inch where the radiator mounts sit and the frame evens out again. I put a straight edge along the top of the frame and measured that small dip to be 1/2 inch. I hope this helps
