Finally got my truck!

New to the site here! Main reason I became a member is the knowledge all the guys on here have. Hopefully I can resort to much of that and eventually provide enough know how to other future members.
I just bought a '68 GMC 3/4 ton for about $800, even drove it home. It has a non-original 350ci which runs and idles really smooth. Transmission has a small leak that I need to check out and the brakes are an issue. but heck, for the price I gave I'm pretty happy with the buy. I want to slowly start getting everything in order and have some future plans for her down the ride like 2-3" lift, MAYBE an auto to manual conversion, and interior upgrades. I think she's a good starting point for a solid truck and hope all you guys enjoy!

Thanks ETsC10! I noticed on the title when I bought it, it was registered as a 1/2 ton, I guess since its cheaper that way just saying its a lighter truck and paying less tax on it.Oh well, I got my 8 lugs and full floating axles so I'm pretty happy!

Re: Finally got my truck!

Many thanks! I spent about 4 hours on it today just cleaning out junk and removing unnecessary wires. Got the front wheels off for some brake work (biting hard left) so I think my issues are over on the front passenger side. better just to get it all worked out before inspection though.
Most exciting part of the day came when I realized that the truck still has the stock seat. I'm not quite sure if all '68 GM trucks had the same seat but this has the raise/lower console in the middle (40/20/40 i guess?) similar looking to my '03 but the seat slides all as one piece unlike my '03. I didnt think much about it when I purchased it but some previous owner had added newer seat covers and covered up the old ones, It got even better when I pulled up the carpet and saw the original red floor mats.
Also found my "C" for the hood, the G and M are still hiding somewhere I hope...
