I see a flaw in the story on the engine being in built and in the truck for 15 yrs. Vortec heads only came out in 1996. It wasn't til around 2000 or so that people became awareof the fact that they are good heads... hmmm...

Still sounds like a sweet deal,just my observation.

I just think the current owner misunderstood the PO. In my mind I bought it as just a regular rebuilt motor. I talked to the guy that rebuilt it but it has been so long ago and he does so many of them that he really doesn't remember what mods were done to it (if any)...
