I'm interested in the posi, but I have 2 questions. I'm sure it uses 30 spline axles, right? Was there any water in the case when you or your buddy popped the cover off? The pic looks like water was in it to me. I hope I'm wrong.

I"m unsure about the spline count. I know it came from a GMC leaf spring, think it was a 70. I've got it out and inside, cleaned up some what so i can check for numbers and such. but yes on the water. The picture was taken after the cover was removed and the sprinklers had gone off. There wasn't any water in it when the cover was removed.
