help needed info on 4x4 rear sport bumper brackets - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a pair of NOS rear splash shields and am confused. I have what I thought were original sport bumper brackets for the rear, but the hole for the shields seem too wide???? I think that the problem is the rear brackets in particular the inner brackets. Can someone pull a measurement and possibly some pictures of their setup please? If I have the wrong brackets, then I will need to buy a set, which leads to another question, Are the repops any good??? Thanks for your time, Harold

i've had several people argue with me over the years on this subject. "true" 4x4 inner brackets have a support bar welded into them. i have a couple sets of real inners somewhere in my storage container. everything is a mess around here but if i run across them i'll post a pic for you--i'm doing spring cleaning in november and i'm finding stuff i'd forgotten about years ago.

Your right Harold, I have a set from a Blazer that DO have the welded support bar across the bolt holes.
