You will not find a better site and bunch of guys like the ones on here!!!

Welcome from Arizona and keep us posted with what you do with your truck. If you ever have any questions, this is the place to ask. Someone is bound to know...like Longhorn Man (AKA Andy), he knows much young skywalker and is a super cool dude.

Good luck with the truck, sounds great!

Don

Do not worry about what folks say about your truck. You have no payments, super low insurance, and your truck will not depriciate in value, so you can laugh all the way to the bank!

True, but IF you do decide to work on it, keep receipts, or even get an apprasial. That will make the differance if you get in an accident or it gets ripped off!

Just have fun!

Welcome from NOrCal.
There is much to be learned here.

All you have to do is ask.

As I learned many decades ago, "the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked."
So, don't be shy about asking questions; nobody's gonna "make fun" of you for what other boards would think to be seemingly dumb questions.
We're all just folks here, helping each other out.

Once again, welcome aboard.

BTW, nice truck

El Jay

Howdy from Fort Worth, Welcome to the forum!

You probably got the truck for $1500 because the guy has alzheimers and couldnt remember what he wanted for it in the first place! great buy on your part! Karma will eventually come back to haunt me....

Re: hey.new guy here....1st post also..

Welcome aboard man! I started working on my 72 when I was real young, and drove it all through high school.

I took a lot of crap while I was getting started (driving around with no bed/paint for a few weeks, no interior, etc), but it all paid off at the end of the day when I had strangers complimenting it and asking me to help them on their projects (and the rich kids wanting to get out of their 350z and buy a restored old car).

Most importantly, i'll tell you from experience, girls love these trucks...

The best piece of advice I can give you is just to get your hands dirty. I know its hard affording parts and making progress when your on a small budget, but do what you can and keep making progress (brake lines/fittings, plumbing, painting little engine/interior components, etc). A few friends with similar interests is a big plus, also.
