Bed Tie Downs

Does anybody here have bed tie downs? Mine came with them bolted to the outside of the the bed with hooks. Of course in the garage I would snag my arm on them and did they ever draw blood. Gone, Gone, Gone.

I don't plan on carrying a load of bricks or anything big, but I might make a dump run which consists of bagged garbage and cardboard. Heck I might even go shopping with the wife and she might want to well by me tools or something since she loves me so much and I'll need a way to tie them down.

I was thinking since I've ripped up all the wood floor maybe put in some kind of attractive flip up hook system or something that can be used to tie down loads so they don't slide all over the bed and wack the sides.

Anybody have any photos or ideas?

Re: Bed Tie Downs

Sounds crazy, but because I tow a small panga (fishing boat) I put these on my 65' C10 with large S/S fender washers below:

They're very tough and don't really get in the way. Just an idea.

They have the ones at parts stores the you can cut a square and they bolt down close to flush and the tie down parts spin flat when not in use.. another thought

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I just didn't know if others came up fancy types of tie downs. You know some bizarre flip ups or roll overs or something of the sort.

Re: Bed Tie Downs

Hey Kizer,

My truck had the boat things mounted on the top bed flanges, ugly.

I used these mounted on the lip of the inner bed wall so no show. The rings clip in and out at any location with a push button so you can stow them when not needed and locate them wherever you want when needed.

Here is the link. Not cheap of course but work like a champ.

I have two beds with these tie-downs on them. They were dealer installed optional tie-downs.

Stainless Steel cleats are ugly?! Shock and dismay!

Thanks for the pictures. I wasn't going to throw these hooks away unless they where worth something and now I know they are not a factory option just something somebody drilled into the body with.
