lifting a 1959 GMC
wondering if there was any lift kit, leaf springs, or anything available on the market, if not how do i get my stock truck lifted more than 2 inches, and could i also fabricate a 69-72 lift kit onto my truck.
Thanks People!! Last edited by yodi; 11-20-2008 at 11:59 PM. |

Re: lifting a 1959 GMC
Might post the same question in the 4x4 forum or search that forum. Back is easy, use lift blocks. Lift blocks are not advised for front leaf setups, too much side thrust that might offset or roll them or create torque steer. You can get "add a leaf" springs, rearched springs or different shackles that give you front lift. That is what I have learned from going thru some of the threads there. You might also look at moving the axle to the bottom of the springs, on my 4x4 conversion that gains 4" lift.
