HI ALL REALY LIKE BORAD I HAVE LEARNED ALLOT ALLREADY
I HAVE JUST GOT A 70 GMC CUSTOM C-10 LWB WITH ALL OUTER TRIM IN GOOD SHAPE VERY LITTLE RUST JUST SOME REAR CAB CORNERS VERY MINOR NO DENTS JSUT HAVE BRAG ON DEAL OF THE YEAR IT RUNS BUT NEED MOTOR ONLY PAYED 400 BUCKS
FOR THE TRUCK POOR GUY DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE HAD HIS LOSE LOL
MY ??IS THE BADGE ON SIDE SAYS 1500 V-EHIGHT HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT MOTOR WAS ORIGANL MINE HAS BEEN CHANGED I KNOW I THANK IT IS A 350 IT HAS NEW CARB ,DRIVE SHAVT ,BATTERIE,GOOD DIST.

Welcome to the board from Texas
First check the option sticker inside the glove box if it is still there.
Second post the VIN number here from the tag inside the driver’s door, and someone will decode it for you.
Probably had a 350 in it originally.
You can also get the numbers off of the block and heads to decode. The numbers are located on the front passenger side on a pad that sticks out to the front of the valve cover. On the back on the block above where the trans bolts on the driver’s side.

one more place if you are lucky. they usualy tucked the actual build sheet in the springs of the seat. usualy behind the seat. work a look. you may get lucky

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi. I can't help you on the numbers. I only have stuff for GMCs up to 69. It probably is a 350 if it's original though. Like Hutch said, they surest way would be the block and head IDs..

Wasn't the base engine in a CE truck the 307?

That's what I'm thinking. I'll bet it's 307, unless GMC is different than Chevy on the base engine.
